Making a New Friend...

Good Morning Everyone!!

What a beautiful day here in southern WI!!!

Unfortunately, I have to sit inside and stitch most of the morning, so I won't be able to enjoy very much of it...maybe I should take my stitching outside. All of our lawn chairs are packed away in storage, but I can throw down and old blanket and try my hand at stitching while sitting on the ground...sounds painful...but I think that I will give it a try anyways!

I am working on a few things for my up-date next week. I'll be sure to post a small preview so that you can all see what I have been up to. I have been trying to work on finishing that chicken rug also...which unfortunately isn't going so well, but...let's leave that discussion for another day!

I was supposed to be going to my Mom's this morning to spend a little time with her for Mother's Day, and then north for the weekend, but our plans have all changed...always something...now, I will be seeing Mom tomorrow instead, so we will have a little more time together and we are planning another trip to Cottage House Primitives in Lodi and then a stop at Mill House Quilts...should be fun!!! Then, more house-hunting the rest of the weekend...I am exhausted just thinking about it!! :)

I took a little time off on Wednesday to meet and have lunch with a fellow blogger. We had been trying to get together for some time now, and were finally able to fit a short visit into our busy schedules. I am sure that you all know the...ever so talented and oh so popular...Karen from My Colonial Home, and let me tell you, she is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside!!

We had a fabulous lunch at a place called Milwaukee Grille, where we exchanged small gifts to each other, and just look at what Karen made for me...
Karen is so sweet...she took the time stitch this beautiful hand towel for me the night before we met! I love it Karen, and I can't wait to find a house so that I can display it properly.

Here is a picture of the two of us together...Karen scooted over to my side of the booth and had our server snap the shot. Little did I know at the time that she was having a great deal of back pain...and I was trying to manage a nagging migraine, but neither of us had the heart to cancel. I am so glad that we didn't...I guess we are both just a couple of "die-hards"!!
Isn't Karen a pretty lady? I enjoyed our meeting so much, and I really look forward to seeing her again...maybe the next time we can find a shop or two to visit???

Well my friends, it is almost 8:30 and I have lots to get finished today, plus I have a few errands to run and then we have a couple of houses to go see later this afternoon...wish us luck...maybe one of them will be "the one"!!

Before I go, I want to thank you all for your continued support and for all of the nice comments and emails...WELCOME also to all of my new followers!! I appreciate you all very much!!!

Have a safe, fun, and just plain wonderful weekend!!

Enjoy your day, Tina

  3. Isn't Karen just the best? We've had to opportunity to meet as well - my sister lives very near to Karen. We met one day for breakfast and then headed to a craft fair - with our husbands in tow! We are lucky - both our husbands are good shoppers. Loved the cross stitch piece you made for Karen. ~Ann
