Feeling A Little SHEEP-ish!!

Good Afternoon Friends...

I have had two emails in as many days asking if I was under the weather or something...so I figured it was time to post a little something!!

Well...I haven't been under the weather, but I have been pretty busy...in two words...UPDATE and TAXES!!! Need I say more?

Today I decided to take my morning a little slower than usual...

...and as I was savoring EVERY sip of my second cup of coffee, I found myself gazing at my early putz sheep collection. I must have been standing there for at least 30 minutes just sipping and smiling. Enamored by each little figure, I picked up one sheep...then another...then another...until I had held and admired each one in my entire collection!!

I just stood there, looking at each one...thinking and wondering about each little chipped nose, broken ear, lost collar, or wobbly leg. Each one is so unique and with it's own charming and endearing personality. I couldn't help but think how incredibly lucky I am to be the loving care-taker of each and every one of them!!!

For today's post, I thought that I would share a few close-up shots of a small part of my collection. They aren't perfect by any means, but they bring me such joy to collect. Please take a minute to really "look" at them. I think that you will all agree that there is something very special about each and every one of them!!

This is a large sheep, about five inches tall, with sculpted face, leather fly-away ears and his original collar and bell. Notice the detail in his beautiful hand painted eyes!!

Oh my...what BIG eyes you have!!! (It looks like his left one is "wandering" a little!)

This little gem was a Christmas gift from my son a couple of years ago...his poor little nose was broken off at some point...oh how I wish I could go back in time to thank his owner for gluing it back on!!

I call this one HANNAH...after my daughter. Isn't she a BEAUTY?!!!

She is so sweet and petite, just like my Hannah! She stands only 2 5/8" tall and just look at all of her pretty detailing!!

And this is my JOSH sheep...after my son...he is a BIG boy...standing 5" tall. When I got him, he was in near perfect condition, only missing his little metal horns...then one day, I knocked him over and chipped the very tip of his left ear.

HMMM, I wonder if someday, his next owner will look at him and "wonder" like I do about my sheep, and try to imagine how he got that chip!!

This is actually a little goat...He was also a gift from my son that same Christmas. He has "real" hair, fly-away ears, metal horns and just look at his eyes and bell!!

TOO COOL...am I right?

Here is HANNAH again...she is standing next to "PISA"...I named her that because...she leans!! The large Mamma sheep on the right and her little baby were purchased together.

Another large sheep with an unusually LONG nose!! I acquired him in a trade with my sister.

They come in all shapes and sizes...some with blue collars...

...and some with red collars!!! Here is JOSH again...he is standing here with "the twins" !!

Ewes not fat...ewes FLUFFY!!!

And last, but not least...this little sheep is one of my favorites...she looks as though she is turning her nose up at the rest of the herd!! (Maybe she came from ROYALTY!!!)

Well, friends...It's getting late and I have to go get dinner for my "boys". I hope you enjoyed getting to know some of my wonderful little sheep...they are my favorite collection!!
