Break Time Is OVER!!!

Hello Everyone!!!

Well, break time is finally over and I am doing my best to "get back in the groove"!!

It has been far too long since I have posted, but before I get started, I want to take a minute to thank you all for your warm and friendly comments, emails, cards and phone calls. Your friendship and visits mean the world to me I was overwhelmed by your kindness and concern!!

WHEW...and what a time we have been having...there is so much going on right now! I promise not to be too long-winded!

Most of you know by now that we sold our beautiful saltbox and have moved. It was really hard at first, and trust me...I still have my moments, but I have decided to really try hard to embrace this new chapter in our lives and start looking forward instead of back.

We have a lot of changes going on right now...selling our home and moving to a completely new area. Obviously, we are still renting and living out of boxes, but we are searching every second for either an existing house or possible building site. No luck yet, but we did find an "area" that we absolutely LOVE and are now concentrating our efforts there.

One of the best changes in our lives right now is that about two weeks before we got the offer on the house, we put an offer in on a lake cottage...I know, call us crazy...the last thing we need is more on our plates, but my husband and I had been saving and looking for a piece of lake property for several years now and when we saw this place, it was love at first sight! We snatched it up before anyone else could get it...and luckily for us too...there were several other parties waiting to pounce if our offer fell through!!

It was built in 1914 or 1917 (I am going to research that further) by the president of a Chicago lumber company, and it is very rustic with open ceilings and a wonderful stone fireplace with original wood floors, windows, etc., and the view to the lake is breathtaking!! Right now it is only a three season cottage, but over the next couple of years, we plan to make a few changes and turn it into a four season place so that we can enjoy "all" of the seasons there...you know me and my love of the seasons!!! We are leaving here shortly to spend a few days there...the kids are meeting us this weekend and I am so excited...I haven't seen them since we moved and I miss them TERRIBLY!!!

OK...did I say I wasn't going to get long-winded??? Oh well, I think that you all know me better by now...so now on to some fun stuff....

Yesterday I spent the day with my Mom. I only live an hour from her now, so I hope to be able to spend as much time as I can with her from now on. We went to Cottage House Primitives...it's sort of "our thing" when I visit her...CHP is a wonderful little shop in Lodi, WI. Carol, the owner, is so sweet and we just love going there. She is a very talented rug hooker and she not only sells wonderful primitives and Colonial style furnishings and smalls, but she has THE BEST selection of  "quality" wool...she sells both bolt wool and wonderful over-dyed pieces, hooking supplies, patterns, and if you are into Punch Needle...well, let's just say...you can find it all right there!!

Here is her link:  www.cottagehouseprimitives.com

I forgot to take my camera yesterday, but I will be going back soon to pick up a new rug kit that Carol is making up for me, so I'll be sure to take a few pictures to share with you then. For now, here are a few photos of what I left with yesterday...I am taking this rug with me to the cottage and I will show you my progress next week.

Here is the pattern I purchased. I have always wanted to hook this rug!!

And, here is the stack of wool that I got to go with the pattern...aren't these colors YUMMY???

Wonderful shades of black, red, creams, golds and olives...beautiful, aren't they?

I don't know why I brought so much home with me...I already have boxes and boxes, and totes upon totes of wool, but when I go to Carol's shop, I just can't resist!!!

It's time to get going...we are leaving shortly and I have to pack a few things. Take care everyone, and have a wonderful day...as always, I thank you so much for stopping by!!

Kind Regards...Tina
